The tanho is a timeless staple of Portuguese craft culture. This intricate seat is entirely made of bulrush, a light, smooth and longlasting vegetable fibre that grows in swampy areas. At the moment, only two artisans in Portugal still know how to make them.

Care Instructions

All our items made with vegetable fibres are unvarnished. We suggest removing dust with a dry brush. Stains, in some cases, can be cleaned by brushing the spot with vinegar and warm water. Make sure it is stored in a dry place to avoid moisture.
